A similar design to the ADB II mouse, the black Apple Pro Mouse was surrounded by a clear plastic shell. After taking years of criticism for their continuation of the one-button mouse, Apple effectively flipped the design of a 'normal' mouse upside-down, with the sleekly featureless appearance that resulted inspiring its jocular appellation as 'the first zero-button mouse.' I will start by telling you this is a clean installation of windows that has just finished, has not been online or done any sort of updates or driver installations - everything is off the disk, XP Pro Service Pack 2.
The problem started before i formatted the laptop and having tried everything (to the best of my own knowledge and online forums etc) i decided it would be easier to wipe and start again. WRONG WAS I!!!
The computer finished the install and went into windows. Its quite an old laptop and all the drivers were in place off the cd. Everything worked perfect ntil i rebooted for the very first time. Now the problem is back! Everytime i left click on a desktop item, in device manager etc the laptop tries to delete it and the confirm delete box pops up.
I have tried .
Updating the mouse drivers
Disabling the mouse driver
Uninstall & reinstall mouse drivers
Deleting all mouse drivers from windows folder
A PS2 mouse
A USB mouse
Everything just leaves me with the same problem - it's crazy BUT it works perfectly fine in safe mode which leads me to believe it is some sort of software/driver problem and not hardware. Mousepad, ps2 mouse & usb mouse all do the same thing even with different drivers. I disabled the mousepad and used usb mouse, no different.
Completely stuck on this one and any help asap would be great, laptop is useless at the mo.
